Apple works great for 2 reasons. 1) plug and play. Everything is so user friendly and intuitive that it makes such a positive user experience. 2) The ecosystem. Everything is perfectly integrated from one product to another it makes it perfect for family household.
However the downsides is that it's so restricted it's practically a dictatorship and to do anything slightly related to Apple you practically have to sell your soul to them. You also have limited flexibility in terms of upgrades and repairs AND in the case of Macbooks, you pay extortionate amounts for low performing hardware. Not to mention Accesory costs on top of that.
On the other hand, Microsoft are becoming no better with the extortionate prices of their Surface line and accessory line up too. A replacement Surface charger is £99! That's taking the fucking piss and deliberately ripping off your customers.
