I'm a strong Android user but the Pixel 2 presentation just did not have me sold. Please understand that I love Android devices overall, but they're wasn't much appealing announcements and a lot of disappointments with the pricing and stripped features that were noticeable. It seemed they didn't learn anything from the last Pixel devices reception. I heard the camera was good though. I made this video to give my thoughts and opinions, the audios not great but I somewhat get my point across.

  1. To summarize, your point is that it's all to expensive, nothing was a new idea, and it's all copying Apple. You lament the loss of the cheap and good Nexus program. You also keep asking "why?". If I may reiterate others, Google is trying to change the image of Android and Chrome OS Trying to break the narrative that Android is the "cheap" alternative to Apple. While the more frugal of us lament the Nexus loss, Google is providing a top tier hardware option without the skinning and the bloat and by setting the price to be on par with all other top tier devices it isn't undercutting other Android manufacturers. If they made the Pixel at 399, then Samsung,LG,Lenovo... everyone would stop using Android. Samsung already has Tizen ready to do this. If you want an economical phone at a cheap price go get a Moto G. I agree there was no amazing new category or feature, I'm actually ok with this, what I see is a slow perfecting of what they have. I may not like the price but because there are other manufacturers in the same ecosystem, I have choices.

  2. Richard Mueller I respect your opinion, however that cheap pricing model they used wasn't a horrible idea, and it was the only thing that led me to obtian an Nexus 7 tablet. You see the Nexus 7 didn't have split screen features (well not until I put a custom rom on it) and many other features other manufacturers had but that price point was more of a safe point. I also more so find it copying apples bad decisions. I cannot fathum why the headphone jack needs to be removed at all, I have TRIED the wireless trend before, it comes with a lot more disadvantages than ever! So yeah I was really disapointed and YEAH I'm going to compare it to my Note 8 or hell the Nexus 7 I own. Both devices prove they can either gice us something amazing or give us something affordably cheap and appealing, I mean the Nexus brand wasnt a super hit, but theres no denying it had WAY MORE fans behind it. 20 dollars for a dongle? (I know theres probably 9 billion cheap ones, but uhhh yeah its sorta sad to see considering the headphone jack on the older pixel) $999 chromebook?, theyve do that before and pretty much having an overpriced chrome book lost to cheaper options.
