Based Jesus true but at least they put effort into there future. Tbh there's a lot of teens with this attitude. The economy is just such a different place they take advantage of
Why is working at McDonald's always looked down upon as a bad job? You're working for a multi-billion dollar service and the minimum wage is higher than average as well. If anything, being a janitor, garbage man or a field worker would be much worse.
This worries me... I (think) I got a D in science... But I still have exams that could at least make it to a C or B... I know a D in science isnt the worst and won't affect my life too much, but my parents are strict af and they'll be like, "YOU GONNA WORK AT MCDONALDS AND FAIL IN LIFE! STUDY FOR EVERYTHINGGGG!" Any tips or words of wisdom, anybody, please?
Jess My parents are exactly like that. At some point, you just have to start ignoring what they say. I have one of the highest levels in my year in school and they still aren't satisfied. I seriously feel useless whenever I talk to them, so at this point I just don't, or if I do I don't take it seriously. This is advice given to me by a good friend, and I find it really helps.
At least its a job you get paid. There's some people that don't even have jobs and I'm failing 9th grade I know I am, if I get kicked out of school or drop out, I wouldn't mind working at a McDonalds because at least I'm getting paid money. It might not be a lot but I'm grateful of my money I earned. People got to learn that it might be a low job but there's unfortunate people in this world that don't have jobs and they want a job. People that say working at a McDonalds is low but at least I was lucky enough to get a job. At least I believed in myself even when I was down and I got back up and got a job. You guys can hate on my comment as long as you want, I'm just saying that some unfortunate people don't have jobs in this world, but at least I got a job and being independent of myself. Even if its working at a McDonalds, I'm proud that I had the courage of myself to get a job and supporting myself. :)
Timothy Norman true but its better to have that degree sitting their than to not have it .it could be of use to u at some point where as if you dont have it you know you there for life
That OneTooth There are stories about people dropping out and becoming billionaires. But it's doesn't happen a lot. It's not common. School is just to help you get a better chance at getting a really good job.
taisha stgeorges "School is just to help you get better chance at getting a really good job.'' I can see how it opens doors for you, but it's quite uncertain considering the fact that college is becoming a huge debt scam.
I'm talking about entrepreneurship here, and your point proves that school does not encourage entrepreneurship.
Kenon Lattimore Everyone has the potential to be one if school didn't suppress their potential to be one [if they want to be]. School makes you into a conforming 9 to 5 working debt slave. School kills your belonging, creativity, autonomy, and competence.
The only education you need is Basic English, Math, and Science. If you need to study the advanced things in those subjects for your career then study it on your own. Otherwise, the advanced things are totally irrelevant if you don't want to study them.
Kenon Lattimore Alright, I gotchu. And yeah, I got that from that person. I was about to give that person some friendly encouragement but dude just flagged my comments, like what the fuck? Does this person want to live a sad life?
"but at least it's better than working a crappy job like McDonalds.'' It's no better because we're being conditioned to work at those kind of jobs. What do you think the letter grade is for? It's to see how obedient you are to your master (manager/boss). School just teaches you WHAT to think, not HOW to think.
Jess I think you do knew that your parents love you. Well most parents tend to overweight their children with education but that is a good thing since getting higher education means you will get a good future. Dont take their expectations in a bad way though. To be honest, i did had times like you but only in high school. It mostly depends on how you embrace it. I cant say you must be good in science to get a good future since everybody has their own skills but you must try to get good at it as far as you can. You can think of it as the 'first step'. Dont try to push yourself too hard because you might lose heart. Just take it easy. Probably you may find something good along the way ;)
It is better regretting do it than regretting not doing it at all. (in a good way)
Reez :D "getting higher education means you will get a good future.'' It's not all the way true. Ask the many people who have received "higher education", but they have to work at a fuckass job (like McDonald's, etc.) that is irrelevant to their field they're going in for, just to pay their student loan debt. Besides, you would be already cramming and regurgitating for things that you may not use in that same field.
"Dont try to push yourself too hard because you might lose heart.'' Then maybe you should ask, "what are you doing all of this for?'' Is it for you or what other people want you to do?''
Jess Just work at whatever you want to do with your life. Do whatever the FUCK you wanna do. You only know what's best for you, especially with what you want to be in life.
That OneTooth mostly i do it for myself. But i also do it for others if you know what i mean. Well i dont really like to push myself too hard to the ground. Sometimes if you try too hard, you will lose yourself in the process. But i think it depends on the person i guess.
And about your point on most people who have received higher education but they have to work at places that are not related to them, yes i know about it. I do fear it. But if there is even a slightest chance you will get that chance to be in the place you want to, would you still do it? Dont you want to be that slightest chance? My answer is yes. What about you? I would rather regret doing it than not doing it.
I dont want this to become an arguement. So hey lets all be friends. :D I hope i didnt offend you and sorry if i did. I just wanted to say it is better if we think positively. We need to get that good vibe! π If you know what i mean. π
One Night Having a job is all good because you can say "at least I have one''. But would you want to work at the same crappy job all of your life, until you die? Do you truly hate yourself that much? It seems like you are willing to be a cog to the system.
McDonald's is just not life, my homie. You would be living the AmeriCAN'T Dream, not AmeriCAN Dream.
Lmao

ReplyDeleteSB ROSE im not huh thanks for letting me know
ReplyDeleteKenon Lattimore If education is the key then why are/were there people dropping out and becoming success stories that we know today?
ReplyDeleteTerm Inater That's intellectual authoritarianism.
ReplyDeleteTerm Inater And where did I say anything about "smarts''?
ReplyDeleteThat OneTooth There are stories about people dropping out and becoming billionaires. But it's doesn't happen a lot. It's not common. School is just to help you get a better chance at getting a really good job.
ReplyDeletedeletes comment about me being stupid

ReplyDeleteI'm talking about entrepreneurship here, and your point proves that school does not encourage entrepreneurship.
That OneTooth School does encourage entrepreneurship. You can even get a degree in that. So it does help you.
ReplyDeletetaisha stgeorges Does it really?
ReplyDeleteKenon Lattimore Everyone has the potential to be one if school didn't suppress their potential to be one [if they want to be]. School makes you into a conforming 9 to 5 working debt slave. School kills your belonging, creativity, autonomy, and competence.

ReplyDeleteKenon Lattimore Alright, I gotchu. And yeah, I got that from that person. I was about to give that person some friendly encouragement but dude just flagged my comments, like what the fuck? Does this person want to live a sad life?

taisha stgeorges That sounds uncertain and subjective.
ReplyDeleteFlabbergasted George Okay, thank you it helps!
ReplyDeleteThat OneTooth Its not.
ReplyDeletetaisha stgeorges Yes it does. What part of "school" makes you into an entrepreneur?
ReplyDeleteEducation and schooling are two different things.
Jess I think you do knew that your parents love you.
