Will The Rumored MORE POWERFUL PS4.5 Model Effect/Divide The PS4 User Base Negatively? NOTE: This is also not just a slim model! (Community Poll #13) The rumor has been going pretty rampid around the internet, I've heard mixed opinions on the rumor and so far its somehow supposed to give a tad bit more power and full 4K output and maybe even VR improvements. Do you mind another PS4 model with new hardware? Will This effect PS4 adopters if it is true? Would you buy one? Would love to know below!! #playstaion

People keep posting stuff ive never heard of or seen before and this item is one of them.
ReplyDeleteIt will cause a division if it actually allows better visuals and performance for games, but chances are it won't affect games. If it does however I have a bad feeling that exclusives would be made for the PS4.5 and that right there would cause a huge problem; if games only have simple benefits and not exclusivity on PS4.5 that would also be problematic.
ReplyDeletePS3 vs PS3 slim anyone?
ReplyDeletePhil Marland not the same at all. This is a case of a new PS4, rumored by the way, having better visuals by quite a lot. The PS3 and PS3 Slim didn't have a graphical difference.
ReplyDeleteSly Cooper iYeah its actually going to have NEW parts and chips in it. Its not just another slab thats smaller or slimmer.
ReplyDeleteWell f*ck I just bought the PS4!!!! Hope it stays a rumor.
ReplyDeleteNathaniel Clay exactly, and that's the potential problem if this thing exists. I can see it being convenient for PSVR if that's what the intention is and notice this rumor came out shortly after full details of PSVR's launch date and price was announced. It's too convenient that the rumors state the release of PS4.5 is around the same time as PSVR. Why would Sony make PSVR and the extra processing unit only to spend more money on an all in one package to be PSVR ready? While it does make sense in a way it also doesn't. A lot of people would upgrade because the human mentality of needing the newest and best thing.
ReplyDeleteThis would make me angry af tbh
ReplyDeleteMobile Nigro it would make a lot of gamers angry, which would be an issue for Sony as well. Basically no matter what let's all hope this rumor isn't true because it could go sour easily.
ReplyDeleteSly Cooper TOTALLY AGREE!
ReplyDeleteThis is bullshit. It will never happen. Its just internet babble.
ReplyDeleteUse ur brains people.
The ps4 is capable of 4k anyway no need for ps4.5 and ps4 is still waiting for some amazing games we all thought would be on it by now.
Dom the Dominator not to mention all it takes is simple research to know that 4K gaming demands a lot of power and costs a lot of money. Everyone should also keep in mind that if they decide to upgrade, that is if this rumor were even true, that they'd also have to go out and buy a 4K TV.
ReplyDeleteIf only sony could make it that the 0.5 be an expansion slot or something so the original ps4 owner won't be left out.
ReplyDeleteWe don't need or want a "more powerful PS4!" I'm happy with what I have. Even if it is true, I wouldn't spend more money on a graphical upgrade. Wouldn't be worth it.
ReplyDeleteSly Cooper Why not? If you've ever played on a PC then you'll know that they can simply downgrade or upgrade the resolution depending which ps4 you put the game in.
ReplyDeleteIt's not rocket science.
Lucas Gates Considering a five year old graphics card can run circles around it yes yes we do.
ReplyDeleteThat is if you want this generation to stay relevant and attract third party developers that usually release their games on pc.
YggdrasilAE except it's console gaming.
ReplyDeleteSly Cooper Regardless this generation launched anemic consoles that are laughable.
ReplyDeleteBesides it would simply be a upgraded console all your ps4 games will work with either... Otherwise yes I would see that as a problem.
Just be happy you have the game and don't whine about graphics. Hell. I'd go back and play a PS1 if I wanted. The PS4 is fine as it is now. No need to have a PS4.5 or whatever.
ReplyDeleteYggdrasilAE that is true.
ReplyDeleteThey say that it's supposed to run games on 4k but since the original can't even run games at 1080p I guess it's just a upgrade for vr to be able to run at 90fps 1600×1200(remember, two different images of that images, at at least 90 fps)
ReplyDeleteYes it will, and I hope this is not the reason I saw a lot on our local buy and sell, selling their PS4.
ReplyDeleteBut my guest are Sony and Microsoft are just prepping up in case that Nintendo NX will be really more powerful than their current console : - D
If it's true then consoles might be going down.. another 2-3 years they might pull out even a newer one or Sony finally saw how weak a APU so they doing it right this time, I hope anyways
ReplyDeleteMikail Raja It'll run games at 1080p but upscale them. Either way a console as cheap as $400 and as small as that wont be running true 4K. I only hope that if the rumors are true there'll be a upgrade program.
ReplyDeleteWishful thinking I know.
I think it would be a bad move if games perform better on ps 5, ie 60fps, when ps 4 is still so young in its life. If it did happen Sony would lose my future business and would buy a high end steam machine, can't fit a pc at home.
ReplyDeleteIf you cared about 4k gaming you'd get a PC.
ReplyDeleteYggdrasilAE u said it m8, completely true. Imo if they bring this "4.5" on the market, it will be nothing more then a lame cashgrab that will eventually lead to more pointless discussion. PC Players like myself will still lol at all those fanboys going hurrdurr 4k blabla my console is now best, while my 2y old PC still beats it by miles if it was put to a benchmark XD. Oh, and i do also own both xbone and ps4, just to clarify i can compare em
ReplyDeleteMancano i componenti sostituibili ed ecco a voi un Pc. Ma nascondetevi!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty crazy...Ive seen 3versions of this mufucka now..So whats what?
ReplyDeletePhil Marland not even close, this is Sony shooting their load way too quickly in fear of competition and releasing g what would be the ps5 as a ps4.5 the slim was just a ps3 stripped of features to reduce cost.
ReplyDeleteHPnorth Point stands, If someone was so obsessed by graphics they'd get a PC since it will always be better on there, with better frame rates too.
ReplyDeleteIs this like comparing a PC on 32bit and 64bit systems? Or a PC capable of 4K or not?
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone who does not own a UHDTV get to be insecure on whatever exclusive content this PS4K would get?
You want the exclusives? Then upgrade and adapt, its good for the industry and economy. I say the only reason they complain or whine is about money. Maybe your parents haven't beaten you enough or so bad to straighten you up to get a degree. Next time when you buy a console, immediately start saving for the next generation. There is this thing called budgeting and savings, go look it up.
I don't care about vr. If I can do a even swap for it (or more than half off for trading in my ps4) & all my old games work on it with graphical & FRAMERATE boosts, cool. If not fuck it I hope Sony takes the biggest L for this, I hope it flops horribly losing sony all kinds of money forcing them to discontinue it.
ReplyDeleteHahaha dirty PS 4 peasant i have the PS 4.5 join me now and ascend to God hood for you are weak and im mighty
ReplyDeleteSony released an underpowered machine. They should Live with it, and do what they did when when they released the underpowered ps2: bring out the next machine after 4 years (2 years from now). Apparently 35,000,000 sales and counting isn't enough. They now want a proportion of that 35 million to fork out for a new machine 2 years into the current gen! I mean wtf? If it turns out to be true, this has been my last Sony console. F##k you Sony! Right in the ear!
ReplyDeleteMustafa Ahmed Salah Aldeen Someone's watched console wars and changed PC's line.
ReplyDeleteYggdrasilAE Graphics, Graphics, Graphics... Is that all you so called "Gamers" care about these days?
ReplyDeleteXsavi Xander the "so called gamers" Yes.
ReplyDeleteUs actual gamers not by a long shot.
Xsavi Xander When did I clearly state that I want Graphics,Graphics, Graphics? :D
ReplyDeleteAs I was only stating facts and popular rumors about the supposed new ps4.
Also how they might be able to pull that off let's say I buy a ps4 game and I have two ps4 consoles the original and the updated one...
Then I put the game in the new one and it upscales it ups the resolution ect much like a PC does although not manually...
Then I put it into the original ps4 and it downscales it to run smooth on that apu.
That's a lot of assumptions and filling in the blanks with odd pieces to assume that all I care about is... Wait for it...
Graphics, Graphics,Graphics! :D
In all seriousness that would be the only I can see Sony pulling this off without alienating their fans but only time will tell.
YggdrasilAE Mmmmm... XD Well, I see now.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've heard, Mainly the PS4.5 will just upscale games to 4k and has more power just to run games smoothly. That any game developed for PS4.5 will also be available on PS4. Also heard the name is PS4k. Take this with a grain of salt as I could be wrong
ReplyDeleteAm That Type Of Person Who just wants to have everything so yes
ReplyDeletefever kane Well the PS4 is suprisingly bult like a PC (shocker right?!) it has an pretty weak AMD HD7850 GPU (a 2G Graphics card) which isn't completely capable of 4K its a budget part that cost not much at all.
ReplyDeleteAs long as the upgrade is not forced by sony. I don't care
ReplyDeleteNathaniel Clay ouch It has a 2GB GPU? FUCK!...hmmmm
ReplyDeleteWaste of money
ReplyDeleteWow a ps4.5 ?! They just want more of your money.... Just buy a pc already its powerful enough not to need a .5 version
ReplyDeleteNathaniel Clay The upgraded Ps4 might come with AMD's new APU called Polaris. Look it up guys!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll just wait for the ps5
ReplyDeleteI would, if i had more money D:
ReplyDeleteMikail Raja http://m.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/PS4_vs._Xbox_One_Native_Resolutions_and_Framerates
ReplyDeletePs 4.5 won't be gaming in 4k. They'll have 4k video feedback, but it's certain that you won't be gaming in true 4k.
ReplyDeleteNathaniel Clay PS4 is closer to a 4gb 7870
ReplyDeleteSam Tardif actually if your PC has a GTX 960 or a R9 380 or bellow......... You are in the same boat as a PS4 ( you need that PC.5 upgrade)
ReplyDeleteNOT VR READY
So the PS 4.5 will have a 970/390 equivalent.
All games will be compatable Sly Cooper the only console exclusives to PS 4.5 will be VR.
The PC gamers should want this to happen. It can shift focus to multiple levels of graphics on all games instead of poorly optimized games.
YggdrasilAE you're a fool if you really think that it would upscale the games. The only thing it would upscale would be frames per second, and how well it runs. not how good it looks.
ReplyDeleteSimilar to how the 'New' 3DS works. I have hyrule warriors legends and that's a standard 3DS game. And runs like shit on the standard unit. But in the 'New 3DS it runs and plays just fine.
No upscaling in Graphics is occurring, only improved performance like, frames per second, less pop-ins and load times.
This would most likely be the same if 4.5 is real the real bonus for standard games would be just slightly better performance.
Yes because instead of focusing on there current hardware they will focas on 2 different sets.
ReplyDeleteAlso the majority of people still don't have 4k TVs so it really won't make a difference.
ReplyDeleteSo what this rumor is about (well part of it) is that ex. If i play cod on the ps4 i have now and my friend has the ps4.5 i wont be able to play with him?
ReplyDeleteI think it's a piss take. It's only to facilitate vr though tbh.
ReplyDeleteowen west nah. It'll be like the new 3ds vs normal 3ds, faster load times and sharper resolutions for vr.
ReplyDeleteI won't be buying any updated system. I just got my PS4 at Christmas. Also I could care less about VR and I don't have a 4K TV.
ReplyDeleteSony should just focus more on getting some great games released.
howismyname long Yes you would still be able to play with them...
ReplyDeleteSony is planing to make a PS5 with holograms
ReplyDeleteThe "NEW" PS4
ReplyDeletehttps://youtu.be/bHyj17tSbR0
ReplyDeleteI honestly believe that Sony will confirm or debunk this rumor at E3. Personally I think it's true but we all just have to wait.
ReplyDeleteI have two ps4s, I don't own a 4k TV. AAA games will not run in 4k, so no point
ReplyDeleteSo coll I go a Xbox
ReplyDeleteOk
