Yea but these games were so short and limited compared to GameCube and PS2...and there was none of those things(for the most part) for any of these systems
Today's games would have never been possible back than.
Max Payne 3 at 35 GB compared to Resident Evil 2 at 64 Mb (over 500 times larger)
Internet brought in patches. Rather than just dealing with game breaking bugs, you can now just download an update. It also allows continued game development. And the social aspect is more apparent than ever before.
You still can have that just play games offline. And buy story based games rather than multiplayer ones. I very rarely buy DLC. with mass effect 2 and fallout new vagas being the exemptions. I will never pay for a bloody costume or "map" packs lol
NX Gaming Ah yea. I've heard much of it years ago. I even watched Projared try his hand at it recently...and discovered JonTron lent his voice to the project... Awesome~
Nintendo did that with smash 4. They didn't start doing DLC until the game was complete. Other companies make dlc while making the game and just make u buy what couldve just been on the game already... And capcom makes u buy stuff that's already on the damn disc.
Drew Glenzer Partially. I played Mario 64 recently and you had to fight the camera every second. However I played super metriod an that game is still awesome.
Fun Fact/FYI Nintendo had plans for the N64 too have DLC and updates with the N64DD via the RandNet service. So the idea has been around for a long time. something Nintendo didn't fully implement untill the Wii U
Games are a million times better now. I had fun playing Golden Eye, Mario and Starfox back in the day. But compared to what is being made now. They were all shit. Love the fact I can extend the life of a game I really enjoy with DLC. Love the fact I dont have to live with in game glitches because there is no way to update a game after release. Definitely dont miss blowing in cartridges, smacking consoles, and praying games will work everytime I put one in. Love being able to play online with my friends in the comfort of my home. No contest. Todays games are so much better.
that's why I do all my gaming on my phone with emulators.
ReplyDeletei love the carts
ReplyDeleteI would love to play Turok again.

ReplyDeleteAce Hunter Blake tbh I would rather have a short ass game instead of one that's crap altogether
ReplyDeleteI miss the days when people weren't overly sensitive
ReplyDeleteYes!
ReplyDeleteMobile Nigro How is GameCube and PS2 crap? It was the 2nd golden age of gaming after Sega, SNES and Rare stepped down.
ReplyDeleteAce Hunter Blake I'm talking about incomplete games these days not the ps2 GameCube generation lol, those were good days man
ReplyDeleteThe Nice Poodle some content and features expand the game making it more fun. Depends on the game though
ReplyDeletethat's true today is money the only thing no love no quality....
ReplyDeleteWho genuinely cares this much?
ReplyDeleteAll these circle-jerking comments about how older generations were better.
It was a dark time back then. Viva la innovation!
ReplyDeleteAlex H HOW COULD YOU SAY SUCH A THING? YOU INSENSITIVE MONSTER!!!!!! 😉😂
ReplyDeleteUnless you were in Japan in which case n64 disk drive. Or sonic & knuckles cartridge for those on Genesis.

ReplyDeleteDo people not remember how buggy these games were? Nostalgia is lying to you.
ReplyDeleteDrew Glenzer Partially. I played Mario 64 recently and you had to fight the camera every second. However I played super metriod an that game is still awesome.
ReplyDeleteYes!
ReplyDelete1.Nobody forces you to buy dlc 2. There's a bunch of games that don't need internet unless u play online 3. These rarely happen
ReplyDeletePreach! I remember when you wanted a game to work you just had to blow on the cartridge and if it's CD then clean it with toothpaste lol
ReplyDeleteMust I remind you of the Dreamcast?
ReplyDeleteThat's the reason I just replaced my broken SNES.
ReplyDeleteIkr

ReplyDeleteHmm... You know that moment when your saving, and the you have to do something/power goes out and the console turns off. I LOST MY M3 GTR DAMMIT
ReplyDeleteIKR.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather blow air into a game cartridge than buy dlc😙
ReplyDeleteWow cool
