The Genesis games aren't as good as everyone says they are. I'd rather play Super Mario World because, even though I never had it as a child, it's still similar enough to modern Mario games to be able to enjoy it.
Sonic Advanture 2 was the last good/decent Sonic game. Anything after that is just crap.
Big the Cat honestly serves no purpose in the games. His missions in the games I have played where he appears has the same stupid goal, "find and catch froggy".

Strange, they got Sonic Heroes and Sonic Chronicles: the dark brotherhood and they forgot Sonic CD and Sonic Adventures 2.
I mean, both Heroes and chronicles are pretty good Sonic Games but they don't have their flaws such as: in Heroes, the game controls are slippery, the levels are boring (bingo highway is annoying) and Team Chaotix levels are stupid. With Sonic Chronicles, the battle system is boring, and the story is too generic.
ButterBoom Sonic Boom is the child of Sonic 06 and freaking Sonic Free Riders. New character designs + glitch gameplay, good Sonic games are all the ones like Sonic Colors with a challenging boss, new features, and functioning controls.
Scene-eise though... Unleashed is legendary, Black Knight was revolutionary, and Seven Rings was okay.
Bart Simpson Chronicles... That's an interesting one. An RPG with TBC... Sounded like Pokemon. But they screwed it up so badly, they decided to take off the the 's' on Chronicles.
I admit, sonic chronicles was kind of bad and there's a fan game up there for some reason, but I still like the post. With Sonic, the good highly outweighs the bad.
Magician Sapphire Seeing as your profile pic is Mario checking out his own butt, I'm assuming that's a joke. Lost World had working controls, but had crafting and replaying levels was needed to get the red Rings... A good iidea, but poorly executed.
Shane Potato No joke, yes my profile pic is Tanuki Mario, yes I both a Sonic and Mario fan have been since classic days of both series, and yes, Sonic Lost World, while it had a few flaws, was a solid and good Sonic game and really enjoy it and still replay it.

Shane Potato no it was until after 06' sonic riders which camed out in February of 2006. the crash didn't start until after 06' sonic riders. when 06' sonic the hedgehog camed out in November of 2006 that's when the crash happened and close to 2007 sonic games began to make a downfall even the 06' sonic riders sequels sonic riders zero gravity and sonic free riders which weren't really good.
Modern Sonic, I think maybe you were too dumb to play Mario...you get more out of Mario than sonic...sonic is run run run run...and I fucking hated when I got touched by some shitty enemies & lost the rings...the way the impact was & how it sounded when you lost the rings was just annoying...sonic was ok but Mario all day...Super Mario world was much better than Sonic 1...and Mario 64 was on a league of it's own at that time...don't get me wrong I loved sonic adventures but that came later on...Mario 64 was revolutionary...fact.
So what if they're not speed missions? It's actually kinda cool that way, they made it more of a Mario 64 game...I enjoy the speed but it's just run run run run.

The Quester no I agree. I prefer fallout 3 to its predecessors. I prefer resident evil 2 to resident evil 1 and ff9 to ff7 but there are some stuff that should just be left alone.

There is nothing better than re-playing old games & getting that nostalgic feeling...it's a special feeling that is earned after decades...you can't buy that feeling...when i listen to the old sonic music & other classic games music the memories of being a kid with my big bro & friends just starts racing through my mind...great feeling...it's like a drug.
João Filipe da Costa dude that's exactly how I feel. I'm 29, I was there when the mega drive came out, around when the PlayStation came out and around when the first gameboy appeared. Kids these days don't understand the nostalgia because there is nothing that you can class as a classic. They don't understand where these things come from, most don't even care. They just get handed a shiney new ps4 or x1 and play these high resolution, massive poly filled games. I hope when they get older they will look back at these modern games and feel how we feel about the games of our day.

Jumping on rails didn't have the best accuracy.
The only way for you to look for the quest items if you miss them is to brake and back jump. Effectively breaking the pace of the game.
